NCPS welcomes awesome author

 In News

An author came to the school on Nov. 25. His name is Neil Pasricha, an international bestselling author, and he is the author of The Book of Awesome, The Book of Even More Awesome and The Journal of Awesome. He showed off his new interactive realistic book, titled Awesome is Everywhere. I managed to get a quote from him, so here’s what he said: “It’s been a pleasure and a privilege for me to come visit in Creemore. I love this school, the students were so friendly and so warm, everybody was a great listener, and the questions were fantastic, they made me think, and I learned a lot from the questions too. There were questions about why I started the book, did it actually make me happy, you know, and that’s a good question… It’s a tough question but it helps me make sure of what I’m talking about.”

The Toronto author has written several other books, not just for children, about all things awesome. His newest book, a five-minute guided meditation for children, is inspired by the birth of his son. Signed copies of the book are available through Curiosity House Books.

Movember has started up, and this year there were some changes. The paper moustaches that the school usually sells will be handed out, and won’t be for fundraising. There will be a best moustache contest. Each class got a giant mustache, and they had to decorate them in fun and creative ways. The moustaches will be posted on Twitter and Instagram.

Thanks to my source, Cooper Hill for info on Movember.

The first snowfall happened this week. Students immediately made snow forts and snowmen, and the yard was covered in grass lines from snow balls being rolled around.

Martin Hewitt is a Grade 6 student at Nottawasaga Creemore Public School.
