There are many activities planned for Creemore’s Canada Day festivities.

Cost is $15 per player, enter as a team or individual. Each team will play at least three 24-minute games.

The annual Harold Crawford Memorial kids bike parade begins at the Mill Street Park at 1 p.m. After the parade there will be Olde Thyme Games at the Legion including the three-legged sack race, egg-and-spoon race, scavenger hunt, water balloon toss, lawn bowling, ring toss and bean bag toss. Darci-que and Emilie Que will be offering face painting, balloon creature creations, tattoos and a children’s craft area. Molly will be there too. Visitors are also encouraged to visit the dunk tank.

Canada’s birthday cake will be cut at 1:30 p.m.

From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. there will be a robotics demo.

In terms of food, there will be a brunch served at the Legion Hall from 10 a.m. until noon followed by a Legion barbecue. From 1:30 p.m. Scouts will have fresh baked cookies on offer and firefighters will be barbecuing from 5:30 p.m.

Refreshments will be served in the Legion lounge from 10 a.m.

For entertainment, DJ Shawn Hughson will be providing music throughout the day and the Angel City Experience will be performing live from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Afterwards, Emilie Que will sing the National Anthem followed by the presentation of the male and female citizens of the year. Nominate people for the award by ballot at The Creemore Echo office. We also have tickets for a fundraising 50/50 draw to be made just before the fireworks at dusk. Help offset the cost by contributing to the firefighters’ boot drive or call Norm Nordstrom at 705-466-6748.

The Steve Baker Magic Show begins at 8:30 p.m., all at the west end of the arena.

From 10 a.m. there will be a display about the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote in the Legion lounge.
