Died suddenly on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket in her 80th year. Alice of Stayner, beloved wife of Keith Brown for 49 years. Loving mother of Lynn (Clay Moffat) of Carlyle, Saskatchewan, Rob (Trudy) Brown of Tomahawk, Alberta, James (Erick) Brown of Toronto and Heather (Brent Trott) of Stayner. Cherished grandmother of Steven (Jaclyn), Sherri (Patrick), Brittany (Dan), Katelyn (Dustin), Jessica, Jason (Natasha), Jessica (Rob), Heather, Melissa (Shane), Willie (Nicole), Andrew and Callahan and to 21 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Bill Patton of Stayner and sister-in-law of Shirley (the late Bruce George) of Delhi. Alice is predeceased by her husband Bud Gillette and her parents Roy (Elsie) Patton and Melba (Tom Bradley). Alice was a kind and nurturing woman who always put her family first. She was a lifelong volunteer with many community organizations in particular her church, Centennial United and the Red Cross blood donor clinics. She loved to knit, bake, cook and garden. She will be dearly missed by her many friends including those in Lakeland, Florida where they wintered for over 25 years. Friends were received at Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel on Monday, June 18, 2018. The ceremony to celebrate Alice’s life was held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Centennial United Church.
