Community rallying to achieve wonderful things

The main street of Creemore ON, which is visibly practicing social distancing, has hand made signs in the trees encouraging everyone to think positively and think of each other in this time of need.
Many houses have kid’s drawings in the windows to give positive message to their buddies. The toy store, Cardboard Castles, has a finger maze on its window to engage families, with gloves of course.
When we called to order pizza the other night, the one restaurant had run out by 3 p.m., the other was being kept too busy to answer the phone and finally the local bistro had only one kind of entree left. Clearly the community was rallying to support their restaurants.
On a previous night we learned that the local brewery was supporting employees to purchase local takeout meals. The local grocery store has organized volunteers to deliver to those who are isolated or unable to shop. And Creemore Caremongering has been set up to supply the most vulnerable.
Overall, Creemore continues to be an example of how the entire community can achieve wonderful things. A real antidote to the binary perspective so common today.
Peter Halsall,
Creemore.
