Consider PC position on climate change

Thank you for your March 18 editorial, “Wynne Liberals not all bad”.  It made some very good points.

However, I am not writing this letter in support of the Liberals.

I am writing to ask people who are considering supporting the Progressive Conservatives in the upcoming election, to think about this party’s position on climate change.

According to the PC website, Doug Ford says he will, “scrap Kathleen Wynne and Justin Trudeau’s expensive carbon tax”.  He does not offer an alternative for fighting climate change.

I do not believe that we should be supporting the leadership of any political party if it does not have a plan to address this issue.

The evidence is overwhelming that the earth’s climate is changing. The evidence that this is related to human activity, namely the burning of fossil fuels, is also overwhelming.

We can no longer afford to have people in office if they are not prepared to offer credible policies to address the issue of climate change.

Our children and grandchildren deserve better than this.
