From the Hack: Talk about a winning streak! Team McArthur (Robert and Ed/Kerry Meulendyk) with only three players have been undefeated thus far. The Paul and Karen Crevier Trophy is within reach. Will team Fuller (Gord, Catherine, Mike/Cheryl Kangas) be a thorn in their side if they win and McArthur loses? Stay tuned! Also of interest are the curling electives currently taking place at the club for 20 Grade 6 NCPS students. Many thanks to the teaching volunteers Al Lambert, Mike Loranger, Donna Baylis and Rick Kelly. Good curling!

From The Hack: As we approach the final evening of play for the Toronto Dominion Trophy the top three teams have made significant moves in the standings. The John Millsap team has leapt out in front of the pack while the Dave Millsap team drops to third spot, the Adam Verstegen Team now holding a close second place. With only one game remaining the Verstegen rink will be taking on the Dave Millsap rink, both teams in contention for the trophy while Russ Flack will attempt to unseat the leader John Millsap. Let’s see what the Flack rink can do as spoilers.

Ladies

Team win-loss-tie

Baylis 3-1-0

Steed 1-3-0

Crawford 3-1-0

Walker 1-3-0

From the Hack: Two close games again this week. On Sheet 1, tied after seven ends, Judith threw the perfect shot for a huge win over undefeated Team Baylis. An entertaining game on Sheet 2 with Millsap sibling rivalry, Lynn and Team Steed the winners. Teams Baylis and Crawford in a rematch next week for the Foodland trophy.

Did you know? The bottom of a curling stone is concave, not flat. It slides on a narrow ring of stone called the running band. Less contact with the ice means less friction.
