Creemore salon re-opens under new ownership

A salon that opened in Creemore early this year has a new name and a new owner.

Trish Buckton has opened The Best Little Hair House, in what was called Utopia Green Salon.

Buckton used to own a salon by the same name in Alliston, where she still sees clients one day per week.

Having recently moved to the Maple Valley area, she was looking to open a salon in the area when she discovered the Caroline Street business was for sale.

An entrepreneur, Buckton is used to running her own business and thought this new venture would be a good fit.

“I am looking forward to the change, meeting new people,” she said. “I like Creemore, I like small towns where people are down to earth and relaxed, it’s a simpler way of life.”

Buckton had lived in Creemore for five years when she was a teenager, attending Grade 7 and 8 at the elementary school. She said she couldn’t believe the coincidence when she realized that the salon was in the same building where she had worked at Luigi’s Pizza.

With 25 years experience as a stylist, Buckton is offering a full service hair studio with precision cutting, colour, foiling, perms and up-dos. Buckton is using all natural organic products that are infused with essential oils, like tea tree and mint, which are stimulating for the scalp. Vicki Green, the former owner, is available to do manicures and pedicures.

The Best Little Hair House is located at 6 Caroline Street West. The salon is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, with early mornings and evenings by appointment. Closed Sunday and Monday. For appointments, call 705-309-4247 (HAIR).
