Creemore Springs Brewery rewards makers

Fourteen prizes worth $30,000 are up for grabs from Creemore Springs Brewery through a Create More Fund, to mark the brewery’s 30th anniversary.

“In 1987, we founded Creemore Springs Brewery and decided to do things differently. We became makers and spent the next 30 years honing our craft,” said the brewery’s director of marketing Karen Gaudino. “Today, we want to give back to all the other makers – from artists, sculptors and craft makers, to the chefs and farmers who are out there carving their path.”

Those interested, are invited to submit entries by posting photos, videos and text on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using #CreateMoreFund. Makers are asked to tell their story and show their dedication to their craft, whether a hobbyist or professional.

The brewery is offering a grand prize of $10,000, a second prize of $5,000, five prizes of $1,000, two local prizes of $2,500 and five local maker space prizes of $1,000. Submission deadline is Sept. 5. Voting on the shortlist of 25 makers will begin on Sept. 14 and the winners will be announced on social media by Oct. 18.

Judges are Creemore Springs Brewery founder John Wiggins, designer and sign maker Shane Durnford, Brent Preston and Gillian Flies of The New Farm, Caesar Guinto and Sam Holwell of Creemore Kitchen.
