Creemore Terry Fox Run, Sept. 16

 In Events

The annual Terry Fox Run is taking place in Creemore on Sunday, Sept. 16.

The event welcomes runners, cyclists, rollerbladers, strollers, wheelchairs, dogs and horses for a 5-kilometre route (or do it twice for the full 10k).

Since Terry Fox ran his Marathon of Hope in 1980, Canadians have raised over $750 million for cancer research. This money is invested into projects with the greatest potential impact for patients. One such project is called Terry Fox PROFYLE, which focuses on hard to treat cancers for youth. This project, and others like it, use the principles of precision medicine and big data in a collaborative Pan-Canadian approach in an effort to give kids with hard-to-treat cancers another change.

The event begins at Creemore’s Station on the Green. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The event gets underway at 9 a.m. Sign up at www.terryfox.ca/terryfoxrun/creemore.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
