Deal struck to open public washrooms, eventually

 In News

The Station on the Green board of directors has approved a plan proposed by the Creemore BIA to open the public washrooms at the facility.
In partnership with the Township of Clearview, the Business Improvement Area (BIA) executive will be covering the cost of additional cleaning to minimize the risk of opening the washrooms once the stay-at-home order is lifted by the provincial government.
The washrooms have been closed since the beginning of the pandemic last March. The BIA has been advocating for them to be open to increase access to hand washing facilities and allow shoppers a place to relieve themselves when in-store shopping is allowed.
The washrooms will be open Saturday, Sundays and Holidays between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. April through September with adjustments based on demand and financial resources. A paid staff person will make sure the washrooms meet public health guidelines during hours of operation and the municipality will provide a fogging machine for addition disinfection. The BIA will reimburse the Station on the Green for wages and the cost of utilities and cleaning supplies.
