Dentist returns to her roots

Mad River Dental Centre is welcoming a new dentist.
Jordan McKee has been practicing in Muskoka for the past four years since graduating from Western University.
Knew she wanted to work in a small town and having grown up in Nottawa, this is a homecoming for McKee.
In fact, William Hawthorne was her dentist growing up and McKee said she always enjoyed her visits.
“I always knew that I wanted to do something in the medical field. Dentistry is just a great way to see your results immediately and it’s a nice combination of the arts side of things and science,” said McKee.
“I really like working with kids,” she said. “It sometimes requires quite a bit of patience and I feel I have lots of that. The reason I like taking my time with them is because it’s such a crucial period to really make or break their experience at a dental office. I like to ensure they have a positive experiences because it’s so much easier if kids can actually be treated in their home office as opposed to being referred out to pediatric dentists.”
She said a positive experience can lead to a lifetime of good dental habits therefore extending the life of one’s teeth.
McKee is starting at Mad River Dental Centre this week and will be booking appointments on Thursdays, with the possibility of expanding to Fridays in the future. Call 705-466-3344.
“I am looking forward to joining the team,” said McKee.
