Dufferin Farm Tour goes virtual in 2020

 In Events

This year because of COVID-19, the Dufferin Farm Tour is going virtual.
Normally farms open their gates to the public for one day in the fall for people to meet farmers and see where their food comes from.
In this unprecedented time, farms are unable to greet people in person. Instead, the Farm Tour is bringing the farms to families in a beautiful 20-minute video.
This summer we visited several farms in Dufferin with local videographer James O’Connor (the Art of Storytelling) collecting amazing footage from multi-generational farms to new farmers.
Hear how farmers survived and thrived through COVID-19, see goats being milked, take a virtual ride in a combine.
The Facebook Premiere event is Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. Go to dufferinfarmtour.com/watch.
Normally for participation in the tour, we collect food for local food banks so, this year, organizers are holding a food drive on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at six locations: in Orangeville at Sobeys, Zehrs, and Freshco; in Shelburne at Giant Tiger, Foodland, and No Frills; or donate online at dufferinfarmtour.com.
The food goes to the Orangeville Food Bank, Grand Valley Food Bank, and Shepherd’s Cupboard (Shelburne).
