Died peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Bay Haven Care Community, Collingwood just six weeks shy of her 100th birthday. Eileen of Glen Huron, beloved wife of the late Frank Giffen (1976). Loving mother of Patricia (John Sawarna), Robert (Mary) (the late Colleen), Fran (Guy Levesque), John, Gerald (Ruth) and the late Margaret (the late Peter Wilson). Cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren and of 16 great grandchildren. Eileen is predeceased by her five siblings and will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Gram Giffen will always be the heart of Giffen’s Country Market. Many visited for her world famous butter tarts and her wonderful pies but everyone came for her smile and warm welcome. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends and her community. Friends are invited to join her family to celebrate her Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 215 Pine Street, Stayner on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. Reception and fellowship to follow in the parish hall. Spring interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation or Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House would be appreciated by Eileen’s family.
