GORDON, John Cairns passed away peacefully with his wife and sister by his side on Monday, May 3, 2021 in his 82nd year. John, dearly missed by his beloved wife Gayle of 58 years. Survived by his sister Wanda McDermid (Gord). Predeceased by his parents Art and Margaret and his siblings Bill (the late Marion), Ted (the late Isabelle) and Ann (the late Bob Hunt). Remembered by many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours. Also remembered by in-laws Shirley (the late Don), Jim (Tammy) and Mary. John was a trucker/farmer at heart. He was kind and generous and loved children. He was often seen giving them rides around town with his miniature horses which he was very proud of. He will be remembered by many for his green and gold truck with the “toot toot.” Private arrangements with interment at Stayner Union cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation and the Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House would be appreciated by Gayle.
