Improv duo performing at Quince, guard your plate

What do you get when Mad and Noisy Improv Company and Quince Bistro co-host an event? Two-Man No-Show and a three-course meal.
Local improv guy Peter Madore has booked the duo of Ken Hall (People of Earth, The Umbrella Academy) and Isaac Kessler (Man Seeking Woman, Satisfaction), who are bringing their award-winning 2-Man No-Show to Creemore next week, partnering with chef Otta Zapotocky for an evening of giggles and gastroenteric delights.
Like all improvisation, said Madore, audience participation is key but Hall and Kessler are exceptionally generous with incorporating the audience into the experience.
He said the CBC said it best, “If David Lynch married Mr. Bean, their love child would look a lot like 2-Man No-Show.”
“These guys, their energy level is like spinal tap. They’re going to 11. They’re not going to stop at 10,” said Madore. “Their performances really depends on a lot of audience engagement so it wouldn’t be a shock if someone were to sit down at someone’s table and eat their meal. That’s kind of the draw of what they do, this is their energy. They put the audience in the performance with them.”
He said these two performers have developed a skill set that allows them to work spontaneously with such a high level of energy.
Zapotocky said his motivation for doing these types of events is to cater to the locals and he is planning to serve some favourites from Quince’s fresh, local, seasonal menu including the “Simple salad,” Chicken Marsala and the Chef’s favourite Mischa cake. Vegetarian options will also be available.
Tickets for the show and three-course dinner cost $69 (excluding alcohol). To reserve a seat, call Quince Bistro at 705-466-9999.
