Inaugural Ayla Lundy Memorial Award presented at grad

Lilly Hall (from left) accepts the inaugural Ayla Lundy Memorial Award, in memory of her best friend, from Aylaʼs siblings Cole and Stephanie, and teacher Myrna Lowe-Whitley, at the Grade 8 graduation ceremony at Nottawasaga and Creemore Public School June 27.

NCPS Class of 2018 Students at Nottawasaga and Creemore Public School and their family members braved the pouring rain to uphold the schoolʼs tradition of parading to the school before the Grade 8 graduation ceremony when a number of awards were presented –

Valedictorian: Libby Millsap; Outstanding citizenship awards: Riley Boileau, Anna Dinsmore, Fisher Monahan, and Lilly Hall; Community service award: Anna Dinsmore; Ontario Principals’ Council Leadership Award: Libby Millsap; Ayla Lundy Memorial Award: Lilly Hall; Hamilton Brothers Award for sports: Ty Hogbin; Purple Hills Arts and Heritage Society awards: Art – Tasia Michalopoulus, Jocelyn Young, Fisher Monahan; History – Martin Hewitt, Jocelyn Young, Fisher Monahan; Creemore Legion Music Award: Libby Millsap and Abby Hamerton; French Award: Jared Gaudreault; Angus R. McLennan Award for most improved student: Blake Morris, Fisher Monahan, Ty Hogbin; Certificates for outstanding achievement: Riley Boileau, Jared Gaudreault, Martin Hewitt, Tasia Michalopoulus, Libby Millsap, Fisher Monahan and Jocelyn Young; Perry Foundation Awards for the highest marks: Jocelyn Young and Martin Hewitt; J.M. Heslip Award for all around student: Martin Hewitt.
