Kin Canada marks 100 years

The Stayner Kinsmen and the Collingwood Kinettes & Kinsmen participated in the National celebration of Kin Canada’s 100th Anniversary.
The communities participated in raising the Kin Canada Centennial flag and Mayors Brian Saunderson and Doug Measures declared by proclamation, February 20 as Kin Canada Day and February 16-22 as Kin Canada week.
February 20, 1920 marked the day that Founder, Hal Rogers, and a small group of community-minded individuals, decided to start what has grown into a National service organization with hundreds of clubs and thousands of members across Canada.
The work that the Kinettes and Kinsmen do in their community is so important to helping families and community programs that share their mission of serving others. They would like to thank their communities for their ongoing support that allows them to make these investments where they are needed the most.
“Today is a monumental day for our club and for Kin Canada and we are honoured to be able to celebrate with our community and our fellow Kin. With Collingwood’s support, we look forward to serving the community for many more years to come,” said Collingwood Kinette Monika McKean.
