Library plans March Break programming “with teeth”

 In Events

Looking for a “sharktacular” time over the March Break? Take the bait and mark your calendar to bring your children into the Clearview Public Library for a “finnastic” experience of arts, crafts and literary activities all based on the theme of Shark Week.
What does Spideyman have to do with sharks? He will be introducing our new line of WonderBooks as well as our PlayAway Launchpads including Let’s Go Underwater in the Sunnidale Branch at 10 a.m. and in the Stayner Branch at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 14. Family photos with Spideyman are welcomed.
Our Children’s Librarian is hosting formal workshops featuring art activities such as Beach Flip Flop Wreaths, Jaws Attack Photos, You are Jawsome Mugs and Shark Sundaes from Tuesday to Friday. Locations, times and registration spots are posted on-line on our Event Keeper Page located in our library homepage. These spots are filling in fast.
This year’s Big Free Family Concert will feature Mary Lambert and her Sing Into Spring interactive musical entertainment on Tuesday, March 17 at the Stayner Community Centre starting at 2 p.m. Tickets are complimentary but required and available at all three circulation desks.
We will be offering free mini concerts and musical activities with Melissa McInnes (our local opera singer and voice teacher) during Library Time in the Sunnidale Branch at 9:45 a.m. and the Early ON program at Station on the Green in Creemore at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18. These programs are suitable for small children and their siblings. Please come out and make some noise with us! Spoiler Alert – we will be singing Baby Shark.
We guarantee that there will not be any sharks on the ice at Moms + Tots Skate on Friday, March 20 at the Stayner Community Arena at 10:30 a.m. to noon but we will have plenty of “sharkopedia” facts and crafts at our Creative Crafty Story Hour from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
There are still spaces available in the St. John Home Alone ($45) and Babysitter Courses ($65) that will be held on Saturday, March 21 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Stayner Community Arena. Please call the Stayner Branch (705-428-3595) by Friday, March 13 to ensure your child’s registration.
It is only a few short weeks to the First Day of Spring (Thursday, March 19) and to the start of March Break. Think of us at the Clearview Public Library if you want to exercise your brain, expand your horizons and fire up your imagination!
