Library plans March Break programming “with teeth”

March Break is Shark Week at Clearview Public Library.
From March 14-21, there is something for all ages at the library’s three branches.
Shark themed art workshops are happening from March 17-20 at all three branches:
• Shark Attack wreath workshop on Tuesday, March 17 (10:30 a.m. in Stayner, 12:30 p.m. in New Lowell, 2 p.m. in Creemore);
• Shark Week Photo workshop on Wednesday, March 18 (10:30 a.m. in Creemore, 12:30 p.m. in New Lowell, 2 p.m. in Stayner);
• You are Jawsome Mug workshop on Thursday, March 19 (10:30 a.m. in New Lowell, 12:30 p.m. in Creemore, 2 p.m. in Stayner);
• Shark Sundae workshop on Friday, March 20 (10:30 a.m. in Creemore, 12:30 p.m. in Stayner, 2 p.m. in New Lowell.)
The free workshops are open to children of all ages. Those age seven and under must be accompanied by someone over the age of 13 who is able to assist the child. Registration is required and limited to 10 per session. Register online or at a local branch.
This year’s Big Free Family Concert will feature Mary Lambert and her Sing Into Spring interactive musical entertainment at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17 at the Stayner Community Centre. Complimentary tickets are required and are available at all three circulation desks.
There will be free mini concerts and musical activities with local opera singer and voice teacher Melissa McInnes on Wednesday, March 18, during Library Time at the Sunnidale Branch from 9:45 a.m., and the Early ON program at Station on the Green in Creemore from 11:15 a.m. These programs are suitable for small children and their siblings.
There will be plenty of “sharkopedia” facts and crafts at Creative Crafty Story Hour from 10:30 am to noon on Friday, March 20.
Spideyman will be introducing a new line of WonderBooks and PlayAway Launchpads on Saturday, March 14, at the Sunnidale Branch at 10 a.m. and in the Stayner at 11:30 a.m. Family photos with Spideyman are welcome.
There are still spaces available in the St. John Home Alone ($45) and Babysitter Courses ($65) on Saturday, March 21 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Stayner Community Arena. Call the Stayner Branch at 705-428-3595 by Friday, March 13 to register.
The library will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of Robert Munsch’s beloved children’s book with Paper Bag Princess Day on March 7. Drop-in for activities.
