Lions donate to youth organizations

 In Community

At our meeting on Jan. 17, the Stayner Lions Club was pleased to host representatives of many of the youth organizations from Clearview Township. The occasion was to distribute our annual donations to the organizations, to give them the opportunity to tell us a bit about what they are involved with and to explain some of the challenges they face. It was also a moment to allow us to recognize those in attendance and the other volunteers in their organization for the work they do for youth in our community.

In addition, we also renewed our donation to the Canadian Tire “Jumpstart Program” that provides assistance to families that may find it a challenge to find the funds to allow their children to participate in organized sports.

Also included was a donation to the Central Ontario Reds baseball team that operates out of New Lowell. This donation will help fund a humanitarian mission to the Dominican Republic at the end of the month.

All together, the donations totalled $6,500. Our thanks and appreciation to all of you who support our fundraising activities, including our annual Mustang Convertible raffle and our Booth at the Stayner Arena. Without you, these donations wouldn’t happen!
