Miller, Elizabeth

 In Obituaries

After a long hard fight with pancreatic cancer, Elizabeth Ann Miller (nee Mathers), passed away Dec. 19, 2017 peacefully at home at the age of 65.

Elizabeth defied all odds, and after being given only three to six months to live, survived an amazing three years. She would not let cancer define her, and still believed up until her last breath that she could beat the disease.

Elizabeth loved animals, cooking, Christmas, and the Rolling Stones. She enjoyed her time as a world renowned chef at Giffen’s in Glen Huron.

She was a strong willed woman who would do or give anything to a person, or animal in need.  But most of all, she loved her family; husband Gordon, sons Matthew (Katrina) and the late Christopher and daughter Erica (David Baird). Her world revolved around her grandchildren; Alicia, Nathan, Madeleine and Alexander and she loved her time spent with them playing, teaching, and most of all dancing. She will be remembered by her brother Fred Mathers, sister Joanne Leblanc (the late Wilfred) and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Fawcett Funeral Home – Creemore Chapel on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place in the chapel at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Barrie. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
