Municipalities share cost of wheelchair lift

Clearview council has agreed to share the cost of a wheelchair lift to with Wasaga Beach, and possibly Collingwood.
Clearview will contribute $2,500 for the purchase recommended by Clearview Accessibility Advisory Committee.
Human Resources manager Tammy Gill, who is on the committee, said the lift would be added to the laundry list of things people could request for special events. She said with sufficient notice people should be able to book it and avoid scheduling conflicts.
Mobilift is a multipurpose, portable wheelchair lift that provides access to stages, outdoor bleachers an elevated platforms. According to product info, the lift is ideal where structural modifications are impractical, unattractive, too costly or prohibited for historic reasons. It is manually powered making it easy to use and highly portable. The absence of batteries, hydraulic and electric components make the lift extremely reliable and virtually maintenance free.
Township vehicles will be modified to transport the Mobilift.
