Dufferin Circle of Storytellers founder Nancy Woods was presented a certificate of appreciation by Mulmur Township Wednesday, in recognition of being the driving creative force behind the organization, and her contribution to community.

“I would not be standing here if not for a remarkable group of very talented people,” said Woods.

Since 1994, the group has been telling stories in schools, churches, libraries, seniors homes, museums and the local pub.

“We tell stories that are original, traditional and native about people who have lived here and contributed for over 150 years,” said Woods. “Storytelling is alive and well in these hills. This is really great.”
