NCPS annex on offer to township

 In News

The Simcoe County District School Board has declared the Nottawasaga and Creemore Public School annex surplus and is in the process of disposing of the property.

The school has been offered to the Township of Clearview for fair market value. The municipality has until Oct. 18 to indicate its intention to submit an expression of interest.

The board’s process is to offer surplus properties at the appraised fair market value to other school boards, local college or university, local municipality, local upper-tier municipality, the province of Ontario and then to Canada, in that order.

If no offer of purchase is received, the property is offered for sale to the public, at fair market value.

Something for the public please (so, please no condos or apartments). Something to draw folks in Winter. Maybe a bowling alley, movie theatre, a hub for university satellite programs, a school of traditional trades (like brick making/masonry, wood joining or beam fitting, stained glass/glass blowing or rolling, boat-making, etc. etc.), or a raquet ball court, day spa, etc. So many possibilities other than housing for a very few.
