New minor baseball program seeks support for expansion

 In Sports

As many of you may know, last year marked the first year of Creemore Minor Baseball Club in nearly 25 years.

Now that we have a year under our belts, we are expanding.

This coming spring season, we will be adding a mosquito team, in addition to the peewee team.

In order to accommodate this expansion, we have to rebuild the extra ball diamond at Gowan Park. This is where we need help.

Financially this is a struggle. We need to raise $5,000 before April in order to complete the diamond. This amount is to cover the cost of rental equipment and materials. Our goal of being halfway to our goal by the end of fall would require nearly $3,000. This is all over and above our start up costs of adding a second team – uniforms, bases, gear, etc.

No amount is too small and we will issue tax receipts for any donation $20 and up. We call upon individuals and businesses to meet our goal.

Donations can be mailed to Creemore Minor Baseball Club at 23 Jardine Cres., Creemore, On, L0M 1G0 or brought to our upcoming tryout sessions.

Tryouts are scheduled for mosquito (birth years 2007-2008) and peewee (birth years 2005-2006) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 20, 25 and 27 at Gowan Park in Creemore. Tryout fee is $10 per player.

We thank you all for your support through our first year and continued support in our upcoming season. To all who can assist financially, we thank you in advance.
