Next week critical, stay home

Editor:
Apparently the message to self-isolate isn’t always being heeded by those who are returning from their travels. We hear about individuals who claim they feel fine, and therefore don’t feel the obligation to spend the recommended 14 days in isolation.
For the village of Creemore, where people have come together in a spectacular way to support one another, and all but essential businesses have either closed or are offering alternate arrangements, the thought of such irresponsible behaviour is beyond comprehension. The community is making extraordinary efforts to minimize risk to people and businesses. Please, if you have recently travelled, do not visit the village or anywhere else until you have followed the 14-day isolation period. There are resources and people in the community who have volunteered their time to assist those who are in quarantine or self-isolation by offering to get groceries or run small errands. If you need help, Creemore Caremongering is ready (search Creemore Caremongering on Facebook). This next week is critical in understanding how our efforts to #flattenthecurve are working. Without exception, it’s going to take everyone doing their part. Follow the measures that have been put in place and #stayathome.
Barb Halsall,
Creemore.
