Shopping for the ideal community

 In Opinion

Christmas is touted as a time to believe and each and every one of us has a real opportunity to show exactly what we believe in this holiday season. If we believe in the value of independently owned businesses, a vital downtown core and locally made products now is our time to shine by including these thing is our holiday plans and preparations.

The Creemore BIA is making it even more fun to spend time (and money) during this peek shopping season with a special Christmas Gathering along Mill and Caroline Streets this Sunday, November 25.

There will be a live reindeer with its sleigh, making for a perfect photo op in the Horticulture Park 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Victorian carollers will be wandering the village between 11:50 a.m. and 3 p.m. singing seasonal favourites. People are encouraged to join in, if the spirit moves them. The warmth of complimentary spiced local organic apple cider will be available at a fun spot located in the Mad & Noisy Gallery, 154 Mill Street, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

At noon local village merchants will reveal their Christmas windows as they pull down the paper in unison to share some holiday magic and there are holiday swag bags for 50 lucky early shoppers. Meet and greets, sales, workshops, snacks, wine, cheese, live music and the unlimited cheer this community has will make for the ideal kick off to the seasonal  celebration. And that is just the beginning.

With the Santa Claus parade on December 1, weekly Farmers’ Market throughout December,  local bazaars and Christmas activities, Creemore is an ideal place to spend your time and money to make the season bright.
