Small Halls Festival schedule announced

Tickets are now on sale for the Small Halls Festival, taking place throughout Clearview Township from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.

The weekend offers more than 30 events at community halls in Avening, Brentwood, Creemore, Dunedin, Duntroon, Nottawa, Singhampton and Stayner.

Country singer Dan Davidson is headlining at Brentwood Hall on Saturday; Terry O’Reilly, of Under the Influence on CBC radio, is speaking at Duntroon Hall on Sunday afternoon; Avening Hall is hosting concerts Friday, with Jeremy Fisher, and NQ Arbuckle and Carolyn Mark on Saturday; The Rib Tickler is back at Nottawa Memorial Community Centre with two nights of meat, standup comedy and dancing; Singhampton is hosting a whiskey nosing on Friday and a wine-and-cheese on Saturday; A play, One Good Marriage is on stage at Dunedin Hall with two shows on Saturday; Stayner arena is the venue for a number of events including a kids video dance, highland dance and a local heroes breakfast.

Small Halls Festival coincides with Creemore Festival of the Arts at Station on the Green and Log Cabin, with four shows celebrating owls, bowls, upcycling and the 40th anniversary of Purple Hills Arts and Heritage Society.

A backroad poker rally will run between participating halls.
