The Small Halls Festival picked up two awards Friday from the Festivals & Events Ontario.

The festival won ‘Best Social Media Campaign’ for Clearview Township staff’s 150-day festival photo countdown and was once again named one of the ‘Top 100’ events.

“Reaching over 247,000 people on Facebook, and 133,000 people on Twitter, the countdown to the Small Halls Festival campaign helped to highlight the very best of Clearview Township,” said a media release. “A key component to the campaign was to feature the small hall facilities along with faces and places around Clearview Township, while also supporting and showcasing local volunteers, community groups, festival sponsors and local attractions.”

“I would like to extend my congratulations to all hall board members, festival volunteers and Township staff that worked diligently to ensure the continued success of the Small Halls Festival,” said Mayor Christopher Vanderkruys. “Being awarded and recognized as both a Top 100 Festival and with the Best Social Media campaign award on a provincial-wide scale is a great accomplishment.”

The 2018 Small Halls Festival is happening Sept. 27-30.
