Spring auction for Horning’s Mills hall

Horning’s Mills Community Hall is hosting a fun Spring Auction & Supper May 5 featuring celebrity auctioneer Bob Severn, with a simple a la carte supper of traditional auction fare available for purchase, prepared by hall volunteers.

Organizers Judy and Dave Lavers will be accepting items with a minimum value of $5 (no large furniture please) at Horning’s Mills Community Hall, 14 Mill Street, Melancthon, on Friday, May 4 and on Saturday, May 5 until 3 p.m. 

On auction day, the preview begins at 4 p.m. and bidding begins at 7 p.m. Supper is served between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. (cash or cheque for bids won). There will be a 50/50 draw afterward. 

All proceeds will go to the operation of the community-run hall, specifically to help pay for a much needed update of the main floor kitchen. Previous fundraisers have been hugely successful, and have allowed volunteers to complete other renovation projects.
