Two local events pick up awards

Clearview Township received two awards from Festivals and Events Ontario for the Clearview Small Halls Festival at an awards ceremony held Feb. 28.

The Small Halls Festival earned a Top 100 Award, and the Small Halls Festival with Creemore Springs Brewery received the Achievement Award for Sponsor of the Year with a budget of $100,000 or less.

The brewery also received a Top 100 award for its Turas Mor cycling event in May.

The Top 100 Award is presented to festivals and events in Ontario that excel within the industry. It is a distinction for the Small Halls Festival that speaks to the level of community dedication and innovation that hall board members, township staff, and festival volunteers put into the Small Halls Festival each year.

A truly award-winning event, this is the third year that the festival has been recognized as a Top 100 Award recipient.

The 2019 Small Halls Festival is Oct. 3-6 in community halls throughout Clearview Township. For programming announcements and festival updates visit www.smallhallsfestival.ca.
