Clearview fire crews from Creemore and New Lowell responded to a collision on Fairgrounds Road, just south of the 15/16 Sideroad, at about 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27.

A vehicle had struck a transport truck and when crews arrived they found the vehicle fully involved in flames. The lone occupant was out of the vehicle.

There were some bystanders to assist the driver and she was able to wait for emergency crews in their vehicle, to keep her warm and minimize the effects of shock.

Deputy Fire Chief Roree Payment said the driver was taken to hospital and was said to be in stable condition.

The transport truck was stopped at the time of the collision.

“I will say, the individual driving, was very lucky how it turned out because it could have turned out a heck of a lot worse than it did,” said Payment. “Once again, an excellent job by Clearview fire crews to quickly bring the situation under control.”
