Youth Centre gets grant for healthy initiative

The Clearview Youth Centre is the recipient of a $5,000 RBC Future Launch Community Challenge grant. Clearview was one of five communities to receive the grant for youth-led initiatives from The Huronia Community Foundation and RBC Foundation. Grants were awarded to youth-led initiatives that shift the power to young leaders, making positive social or environmental change in their communities while gaining valuable skills and experience. The money will be used to create a new youth-led food security initiative in the form of cooking classes and a healthy snack drop-in program. Youth will run booths at Clearview’s Farmers’ Markets next summer showcasing their new skills. The Youth Centre is located at 7458 Highway 26 in Stayner. Visit www.discoverclearview.ca/youth-centre.
