Sam Roberts Band coming to New Farm

 In News

Details for the latest New Farm food and music extravaganza were announced on Tuesday evening, and by Wednesday morning 125 of 450 tickets had been sold.

Chalk that up to the event’s headliner, the biggest yet in a series of shows that has seen the Sunparlour Players, Fred Eaglesmith, Elliott Brood and Stars play the barn stage at the Maple Valley organic farm.

This time, on Saturday, June 15, New Farm owners Brent Preston and Gillian Flies are welcoming the Sam Roberts Band, winners of six Junos and one of Canada’s most consistent chart-topping rock and roll outfits.

Of course, being a New Farm event, the performers on stage will not be the only “rock stars” in attendance. Chefs from 11 different restaurants and food establishments, both Toronto-based and local, will be serving up tasty creations before the show.

Like previous shows at the New Farm, the event will be a fundraiser for the Grow for the Stop, a Toronto-based organization that serves local, quality, organic food to people in need.

Event information and tickets can be found online at thenewfarm.eventbrite.com, and to ensure that locals have a chance to attend, 150 tickets are being sold at the Creemore Echo. Admission is $45, and tasting tickets will be available at the event for $5 each.
