Hats off to the 38th Winterama Committee! Winterama, which was recently held from Friday, January 31 to Sunday, February 2, was a huge success. A cold, wintry day turned out many smiles, laughs and lots of fun.
This doesn’t happen without a great deal of planning, meetings and trying to improve the events each year. From the delicious spaghetti supper, fireworks, comedian shows and parade to the snowmobile races, children’s games, craft shows and most important, the fun that was available through all of these events.
This week we are heading up to Valentine’s Day amid flowers, chocolates and gentle hugs. It is a wonderful time of year to be a “special” someone to a friend, loved one, neighbour, child or shut-in. Bring Valentine’s Day back to the basics with a gentle hug, a special card (a handmade one has more meaning) or perhaps a delicious dinner.
It is time to get your tickets for a dance extravagancy on Friday, February 22 starting at 7 pm at the New Lowell Legion when The Dance Room from Stayner will be showcasing their award-winning competitive troupes. Adults are $15, kids ages 6 to 13 are $5. Under 6 are free. There will be snacks available at intermission. Extra Lensory Perceptions Portrait Studio will be on sight taking single or group pictures. What a wonderful way to have a lasting memory of a special evening.
This is a fundraiser for the “Accessibility for All” building fund for the New Lowell United Church. Tickets can be purchased by contacting 705-441-3790, 705-424-8687, 705-424-1034 or thedanceroom@hotmail.com. Don’t be disappointed; get your tickets early for this great presentation.

Sammi Groves, Alexander Morozko
Grade 5 Liam Reynolds, Claire Diana, Elise Carlson, Ella Hayward
Grade 6 Savannah Strong, Taylor Glenn, Michelle McGillivary, Jessica Ireland
Grade 7 Hanna Hutchison, Tim Speyer

Lions Rep. Winners:

Public speaking is a skill that must be learned and practiced. With the help of their teachers, parents and Miss Hartley, these children are on their way to learning this skill. Congratulations to all!
Enjoy Family Day on Monday, February 17. This makes a nice long weekend and perhaps Mother Nature will give us sunshine and milder temperatures.
