Police looking for woman who approached Byng student
Police say a student at Byng Public School in Stayner was approached by a stranger on April 30.
Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and driver who attempted to get a student into a their vehicle at 9 a.m. The student was approached in the school parking lot by a woman who motioned to the student to get into her vehicle. Instead, the student exercised caution and ran inside the school, reporting the incident to school staff who immediately called police.
Police are asking for the assistance of the public in identifying the vehicle and the driver.
The woman is described as white with short blonde hair, a large frame and dark clothes. The vehicle is a white Ford F150 pickup truck with four doors, dark tinted windows, chrome rims and black tonneau cover.
Police would like to speak to the woman. Anyone with information as to the identity of this female driver please, contact the Huronia West OPP at 705-429-3575 during regular business hours or the communication centre at 1-888-310-1122 after hours.
