Hike and Bike for Hospice Georgian Triangle May 31

 In News

Hike and Bike for Hospice Georgian Triangle takes place on Sunday, May 31.

Participants can hike the shore of Georgian Bay in Wasaga Beach starting from the RecPlex at 11 a.m. or hike or bike Collingwood trails starting at the Curling Club in Collingwood.

The Collingwood hike also starts at 11 a.m. A 20-km ride starts at 10:30 a.m. and the 5-km family ride begins at 11:15 a.m.

Put together a team of friends, family or co-workers and raise funds to help out our friends and neighbours when they are facing the end-of-life.

All funds raised go towards the Hospice Georgian Triangle’s in-home visiting program, bereavement services and operation of Campbell House, the six-bed Palliative Care Residence in Collingwood.

Interim executive director Linda MacLeod reports that more than 100 patients and their families have been cared for at Campbell House and more than 1,000 hours of support has been provided to families, caregivers and friends of our palliative patients, since opening the doors to Campbell House on August 5.

“With the help of our generous community, we are able to provide the comforts of home for these families when it is most needed,” said MacLeod.

Register to Hike or Bike for Hospice online at www.hospicegeorgiantriangle.com, or download a pledge form from the website and register at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 31 in either Wasaga Beach or Collingwood.
