Run or Hike For Water June 7

Tin Roof Global’s GUSH: Run or Hike For Water event at Scenic Caves Nature Adventures takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 7.

GUSH is a family-friendly experience for all ages, offering fun children’s water activities and a hike and trail run with amazing views through stunning terrain.

The hike and trail runs are open to all levels of participants, from beginners to more experienced runners and hikers. With options ranging from a 10km, 5km and a 2km toddler loop, there’s something for everyone who’d like to get outside for some exercise in support of a great cause.

This affordable event for all ages includes live music, a delicious local lunch, and a Creemore Springs beer garden.

Tin Roof has received nearly $77,000 in funding from a prestigious federal research body: The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

To be disbursed over the next three years, Tin Roof’s NSERC funding will support its water research and youth education work with Canada’s First Nations communities.

To date, Tin Roof’s Water First program has engaged a variety of First Nations communities in Ontario. NSERC funding will support the organization’s future work with indigenous communities experiencing water challenges across Canada.

With one-in-five First Nations communities in Canada under a boil water advisory, there’s much work to be done.
