Clearview hires new head of planning

Clearview Township has hired Mara Burton as its new director of community services.

Burton will be responsible for the effective operations of planning and development, GIS mapping services, the building department and recreational facilities, working with residents to manage planning applications, including zoning, site plans, minor variances and consents. She will also be responsible for providing direction for the sustainability of recreational facilities based upon the current and future needs of Clearview Township.

Burton, who has been a planner for 25 years, was director of planning and development at Tay Township for 12 years. She has also worked in Wasaga Beach and Township of Georgian Bay.
