Results for Nov. 23-26

(Win-Loss-Tie)

Ladies

Baylis 5-0-1
Steed 1-4-1
Kelly 1-4-1
Millsap 3-2-1

From the Hack: The last game of regular play started off with Team Millsap and Team Steed having a first for the ladies with a blank end (actually no one made it into the house but blank end sounds so much better). Team Baylis and Team Kelly duked it out with Team Baylis winning the game. It was nice to have Lynn back curling. Next week is the big night with the championship game for the McArthur Family Trophy. Milt and Marion made the trip to personally present the trophy. It will be Team Baylis vs Team Millsap for the trophy and Team Steed vs Team Kelly for the bronze. You have been reading about them for six weeks, so come on out and cheer for your favourite team! Otherwise it is Milt and all the ladies (including Frederica). Refreshments and giggles after the game – lots of fun – honestly you can’t make this stuff up!

Daytime

Steed 8-2

Martens 6-3

Ruppel 5-5

McArthur 4-6

Hammill 1-8

From the Hack: During Monday’s draw Marilyn (Team Steed) made a lovely angle takeout, early in the game, and was able to leave the thrown rock in the house to count 4, which led to an easy victory over Team Hammill. On Wednesday, Isobel and Kate moved up the ladder to play skip and vice during the absence of Paul, for Team Ruppel. Unfortunately, they couldn’t outplay Team Steed. Team Hammill was able to secure a win over Team McArthur, due to the fine shot-making from Doug and Wayne. Team Ruppel had 1 win and 1 loss on the opening day of the Grandmasters.

Men

Verstegen 5-1

A. Millsap 4-2

D. Millsap 4-2

McArthur 3-3

Rowbotham 3-3

Crevier 2-4

Bell 1-4-1

Fuller 1-4-1

From the Hack: Rink A. Millsap ended Rink Verstegen’s undefeated run at 5 wins. With only one week left before Championship Tuesday on the 22nd, this is setting up for a very close finish.

Mixed

Crevier 4-1

Kelly 3-1-1

Neelin/Baylis 3-2

Bell 3-2

Lambert 2-2-1

Lindsay 2-2-1

C. Fuller 2-3

G. Fuller 2-3

Crawford 0-4-1

From the Hack: With another win, Paul Crevier’s team is back on top. Teams Kelly, Neelin/Baylis and Bell are nipping at his heels. Once again, Donna Baylis and Neil Rowbotham did a fine job of gathering together Santa’s elves to decorate the CCC float and participate in the parade. A good time was had by all.  Well done!
