Blue Mountain Manor executive director Lynn Chattell with long-time employees, cook Linda VanderStelt and hairstylist Marian Yaniw invite the community to the annual Strawberry Tea at Blue Mountain Manor on Saturday, June 18.

This year’s Strawberry Tea at Blue Mountain Manor in Stayner will mark the retirement home’s 30th anniversary.

Cook Linda VanderStelt, who has been with Blue Mountain Manor for 25 years, will be serving strawberry shortcake, strawberry cream tarts, trifle, strawberry fruit kabobs, in addition to fresh strawberries at the open house.

The event also coincides with seniors month and Blue Mountain Manor will be showing its appreciation of its residents.

Dignitaries, family, friends and the community at large are invited to attend. Proceeds from the tea, and a hidden treasure sale, will go to the residents’ fund, which is used for entertainment and special treats for the residents.

The event will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $4.

Blue Mountain Manor is a 52-suite retirement home owned by Trillium Retirement Living.
