Creemore Hort Society celebrates 95 years
2016 marks the 95th birthday of the Creemore Horticultural Society.
To honour this milestone over the summer, members and recognized guests attended an extra special annual picnic on Aug. 17 at the Dunedin Hall.
The event was complete with speeches, an amazing potluck dinner and a delicious huge 95th birthday cake. To top off the evening the draw was made for the handmade quilt .The winner was Claire deRuiter of Dunedin. Congratulations Claire, and thank you to all those who bought tickets to support the society’s fundraiser. The money raised will go towards maintaining the gardens in town.
Excited to fulfill its mandate of being dedicated to the beautification of its community, the Creemore Horticultural Society is planning ahead to Canada’s 150th birthday. Sections of the gardens and the Town’s Cenotaph will proudly display Canada’s colours in 2017. Work will begin on these projects soon.
The Creemore Horticultural Society meets every third Wednesday of the month at the Anglican Church on Caroline St. W. Our meetings are both social and educational with discussions that address a range of topics. All are welcome.
