Council approved the purchase of a new fire tanker truck to be stationed in Creemore. The $330,000 purchase was included in the 2017 budget.

Fire Chief Colin Shewell said the tanker, which should be ready by the end of the year, replaces a 1999 pumper currently stationed in Creemore.

Last year, a new fire truck replaced a 26-year-old pumper housed at Station 4 in Creemore. It was custom built with the needs of the station and the entire township in mind. A cost of $390,000 was included in the 2016 budget.
