New council sworn in at Dufferin County inaugural

On Dec. 13, 14 council members were sworn in as members of the council for the County of Dufferin.

County council is comprised of the mayors and, in most cases, the deputy mayors of each of Dufferin’s municipalities. Municipalities with 2,500 or more electors have two representatives on council. 

After the swearing in ceremony, Melancthon Mayor Darren White was acclaimed as the 2018/2019 warden, head of council. This is White’s second term as county warden having previously held the position in 2017. 

County council meetings are open to the public and held monthly on the second Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. at 51 Zina Street, Orangeville.
