Fatal collision on Highway 26

Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at a collision on Highway 26 and Strongville Road in Springwater Township at about 7:40 p.m. on March 24.
A motor vehicle was travelling on Highway 26 when it collided head-on with a crane truck. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased driver has been identified as James Veley (age 44) of New Lowell.
Highway 26 was closed at Strongville Road while members trained in Collision Reconstruction measured and documented the scene.
