Locals sew isolation gowns, masks

 In Community

When Wendy Schellenberg heard that Hospice needed Isolation Gowns she contacted Days for Girls, an international NGO whose local chapter meets at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church on Fridays and cut, sew and put together kits for girls and ladies feminine hygiene products for girls in Africa. The talented group of sewers were thrilled to help the home community. This is third batch of gowns she has delivered, to Collingwood Nursing Home, Bayhaven and Creedan Valley. They have made more than 200 gowns, with all fabric, thread, binding, velcro and time being donated. These washable gowns are used for health workers. As a fundraiser, the group is sewing three-pleated fabric face masks. The cost is three for $20. Anyone interested, is welcome to call Wendy at 705-466-5221.
