Police warn of smash and grabs

Dufferin OPP is warning hikers to be vigilant after receiving reports of vehicle being broken into at trailheads this month.
In all cases, which have occurred in Mulmur and Mono, the vehicles have been locked and the back window has been broken, in order to gain access to items in the back area. Items such as purses, wallets and electronics have been taken.
OPP want those using the trails to ensure: All personal belongings are completely out of site (locked in trunk or better yet left at home; Be aware of surroundings, pay attention to suspicious people and activities; and contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 to report suspicious activities.
