Canucks rebound to end tourney with 4-4 tie

 In Sports

The Clearview U11 Local League 2 minor hockey team travelled to North Bay for the annual North Bay Challenge Cup Nov. 24-26.

Game 1 saw Clearview defeat the Kanata King Cobras 2-0 with goals from Blake Aldred, and Declan Smith’s first career goal. Noah Fagan was tremendous in net and posted the shutout with a number of key saves.

In Game 2 the Canucks lost a heartbreaker to eventual finalist North Bay Trappers. Clearview had numerous chances to win the game but could only tally goals from Tanner Rowley and Blake Aldred in the 3-2 loss.

Clearview dropped Game 3 by a score of 6-1 to the Timmins North Stars and could only muster a goal from Vaughn Veljacic early Saturday morning, but Saturday afternoon saw the game of the tournament with a back and forth 4-4 tie with Shawville, Quebec. Isaac Beattie scored all four goals for Clearview in the final game, what a performance! The coaching staff would like to thank our team sponsor Ductless Inc for helping us enter this tournament, and the parents for making the weekend such a huge success. Go Canucks Go!
