Valentine’s raffle benefits food bank

Long-time friends Kristen Engel (left, pictured with Rev. Lorna May) and Lisa Sellmar have organized a raffle for St. Luke’s Community Food Bank.

They have collected more than $1,000 worth of prizes donated by local businesses to include in a gift basket, the contents of which are on display in the window of Colours of Creemore Hair Studio, at 146 Mill St.

The draw will be made on Valentine’s Day and the prizes include sweet treats, tea, beer, wine, a heated blanket, candle, jewellery, and a $100 dinner at Chez Michel. Tickets are available by donation, with all proceeds going to the food bank. Engel and Sellmar wanted to do something to support the food bank, which is helping to feed a growing number of local families. They have also included in the prize one of their own bird seed ornaments made under their banner, The Nature of Creemore, which encourages healing and wellness in nature.
