Injured pedestrian in stable condition

Huronia West OPP is requesting the public’s assistance regarding a single vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

At about 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 10, emergency crews responded to a report of a single motor vehicle hitting a pedestrian on 12-13 Sideroad South Sunnidale and Sunnidale-Tosorontio

Townline in Clearview Township. The pedestrian suffered non-life- threatening injuries and is now in stable condition. 

The investigation is ongoing.

Driver caught with open liquor

Dufferin OPP has charged one driver with impaired operation related offences as the result of a traffic stop on Feb. 10.

Just after 2:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 89 and County Road 124 in the Township of Amaranth and quickly began an impaired operation investigation.

A 21-year-old male from Mulmur has been charged with:

  • CC 320.14(1)(b) Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • LLCA 42(1)(a) Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • HTA 7(1)(c)(i) Driving a motor vehicle, no validation on plate
  • HTA 44.1(3) Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville to answer to the charges. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and the vehicle was impounded.

Dufferin OPP continues to conduct traffic enforcement daily as drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs and who drive at excessive speeds continue to pose a threat to Ontario roads. We are committed to the safety of our community.
