Parsons, Craig
Craig Parsons; a truly remarkable and unforgettable man, who led with laughter and kindness. His accomplishments were many, but perhaps his greatest was being the best father a child could ask for. Craig and Patti were the parents to Samantha (Aly), Brett (Meg) and Jay (Marie), and a new Grandfather to Teddy. He was the type of dad who always ensured that the magic of holidays and adventure were part of our everyday life. Craig “Big Red” was born on July 18,1952 and passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, at the age of 72 in his favourite place, the hills of Mulmur. Craig was born in Mississauga, Ontario to Bert and Marion Parsons, who he loved dearly. He will be missed dearly by his siblings, Norman (Lynda), Lizzie (Albin), Suzanne (Doug) and Ron. He will also be missed to his many nieces and nephews who he cherished immensely. Family time was spent at the family farm in Terra Nova; every weekend another adventure. This tradition carried on when Craig had his own family, and the very best memories were created at his favourite place. Tractor rides, skating, swimming in the pond, many musical events and endless adventures were all led by Craig. Living in the Baha, Mexico in a van for 2 years, camping in Killarney, skiing at Mansfield, road trips spent listening to CCR were some of Craig’s favourite memories. Craig was a father figure to all of the kids’ friends, he was a safe landing pad who encouraged us, and taught us about the balance of working hard but to work so you can enjoy life. His main priority in life was to ensure everyone around him enjoyed themselves. Craig and Patti embraced the adventure of completely renovating a 100-year-old, abandoned farm house in Mansfield. This house would become lovingly known as “The Sheds”. This place became known as a home filled with love and fun, where all were welcome and is a core memory for many people. Dad created this place for the kids, and it will be a home that impacts us for generations. A celebration of Craig’s life will occur later this year, donations can be made in his honour to Ronald McDonald House to support keeping families close.(https://www.rmhc-swo.ca/donate/tribute-in-memory) Arrangements entrusted to Fawcett Funeral Home.
